Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a 13-week assignment in Newton, IA. This position requires a 12-hour night shift, 36 hours per week, and offers competitive pay with travel benefits.

You’ll deliver high-quality patient care in a medical-surgical setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team. The ideal candidate has at least one year of Med Surg RN experience, an active RN license, and current BLS certification.

Qualifications

• One year of Med Surg RN experience is required.
• Active RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) certification.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments per nursing standards.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and document changes.
• Prepare patients for diagnostics and assist physicians during procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean environment for patients in med-surg and telemetry.
• Document patient information in the medical record and coordinate care plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and social workers on care plans.
• Prioritize care based on acuity and clinical needs.
• Ensure infection control practices, including PPE use.
• Assist with discharge planning and transitions to home.
