Job summary

Pen Bay Hospital in Rockport, Maine is seeking a Travel RN for med-surg/telemetry. The assignment is 13 weeks, 48 hours per week, nights (12-hour shifts) with a 36-hour weekly guarantee. Requires at least 1 year of RN experience and travel experience preferred.

Must have BLS and ACLS; PALS preferred. Unit handles medical-surgical, orthopedic, general surgery, and urology with patient ratios 1:5 days / 1:6 nights. EPIC EMR used; plum pumps and Pyxis available.

Qualifications

• RN with valid license and hospital RN experience

• Telemetry monitoring and IV skills required; documentation
• Travel experience preferred; ability to work 12-hour night shifts
• Unit handles medical-surgical, ortho, general surgery, urology; pediatric care not mandatory for travelers

Responsibilities

• Provide 12-hour night RN care in med-surg/telemetry
• Monitor CHF, COPD, PNA and other conditions; ensure patient safety
• Administer medications with plum pumps and manage Pyxis supply
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC and charting
• Collaborate with team to ensure high-quality patient care

• Type of Patients on Unit: medical surgical- orthopedic, general surgery, urology. Top medical diagnoses- CHF, COPD, PNA. We do admit pediatric patients to the general floor, but the nurse must have PALS to care for. It is not something that is mandatory for travelers on MSU.
