Job summary

TotalMed RN in Aberdeen, WA is seeking a Med Surg RN for a travel assignment. This 13‑week contract requires 36 hours per week, with nights on a 12‑hour shift. Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience and hold BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications.

The role involves bedside care, med administration, patient education, and active participation in discharge planning, in a fast-paced travel setting. Eligible RNs must be willing to travel and perform in a busy Med/Surg unit.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years recent acute care experience.
• BLS, ACLS, NIH certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
