Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Med Surg RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Charleston, SC. The RN will provide patient-centered care in medical-surgical and telemetry units, monitor cardiac telemetry data, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.

The role requires one year of Med Surg experience, valid RN license, and current BLS certification. Preferred NIHSS and ACLS certifications may be required for some cases. Comprehensive benefits and travel support are provided.

Qualifications

• One year of recent Med Surg RN experience.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures and treatments to patients and families, addressing concerns and ensuring understanding.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to nursing standards.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients’ conditions, documenting changes and reporting concerns.
• Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and assist physicians during treatments.
• Maintain a safe and comfortable environment for patients recovering from medical conditions or surgery.
• Document patient information, vital signs, medications, treatments, and care outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists and social workers to create care plans.
• Manage multiple patients, prioritizing care by acuity and needs.
• Ensure infection control practices, hand hygiene, and PPE use.
• Advocate for patients’ needs and coordinate with families and resources for discharge.
• Perform duties as assigned within scope of practice.
