Job summary

TotalMed is seeking a Travel Nurse RN for Med Surg in Aledo, IL. Assignment lasts 13 weeks, with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts. Travel employment with a tax-free stipend; pay is based on shifts and weeks worked.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years of acute care experience, are certified in BLS and ACLS, and can perform bedside care, medication administration, patient education, and discharge planning as part of a fast-paced Med Surg team.

Qualifications

• 1-2 years of acute care nursing experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Med/Surg RN specialization.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for Med Surg patients, including pre- and post-op.
• Administer prescribed medications and document administrations, reporting adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, start IVs, and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and post-discharge care.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plans.
