Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Fargo, North Dakota. This role requires 2 years of recent acute care experience and BLS certification. The assignment runs for 13 weeks with 36 hours per week and a 12-hour rotating shift.

A travel RN will provide bedside care, assessments, and family education in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include assisting physicians, documenting care, and participating in discharge planning.

Qualifications

• 2 years of recent acute care experience
• BLS certification required
• Additional certifications may be required before starting an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs.
• Perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician.
• Document patient findings and provide education and support to patients' families.
• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer, and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters, and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
