Job summary

TotalMed is seeking a Med/Surg Travel RN for a travel nursing job in Sioux Falls, SD. The assignment runs for 13 weeks with 36 hours per week, on a 12-hour rotating shift, and travel employment.

The RN should have 1–2 years of recent acute care experience, BLS, and be prepared for a fast-paced environment. You will assess patients, document findings, educate families, and participate in discharge planning as prescribed by the physician.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.
• Current BLS certification.
• Eligible for travel RN assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
