TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Richlands, Virginia. The position is a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week, featuring 12-hour day shifts.

Immediate opening requires 1–2 years of acute care experience and BLS certification. Benefits include weekly pay and guaranteed hours, with a focus on providing staffing solutions across the country for travel, PRN, and permanent roles.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience.
• BLS required; additional certifications may be required before beginning an assignment.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
