Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing, Inc. is seeking a Medical/Surgical Registered Nurse for a travel nursing assignment in Des Moines, Iowa. The role requires Med Surg expertise, a 13-week duration, 36 hours per week, and 12-hour shifts.

The nurse will apply the nursing process, perform focused assessments, document care plans, and ensure safe patient care while adhering to nursing standards and facility policies. Travel position with competitive benefits and ongoing support from Amergis.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license for the state of practice.
• Fluent English communication, both written and verbal.
• Current Health Certificate as required by facility or state rules.
• Current PPD or Chest X-ray as part of pre-employment screening.
• One year of professional nursing experience preferred.
• Current BLS card.
• Successful completion of facility testing.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care.
• Performs focused interviews to identify patient needs.
• Assesss physiologic and psychosocial changes in patient condition.
• Documents care plans, diagnoses, outcomes and interventions.
• Identifies priorities and actions based on patient care requirements.
• Monitors alignment between plan of care and medical staff actions.
• Delivers care per hospital policies and patient outcome standards.
• Ensures a safe, therapeutic environment and educates patients/families.
• Revises care plans as evaluations and conditions evolve.
• Documents patient responses to interventions and care.
