Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a Med Surg Travel Nurse for a 13-week assignment in Sioux Falls, SD. The role involves caring for a variety of medical-surgical patients, performing assessments, and delivering care on a 12-hour day shift.

This travel position offers 36 hours per week with shifts billed as 12 hours, and a tax-free stipend as part of the pay package. Candidates should have 1–2 years of acute care experience and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years acute care experience required.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for Med Surg patients, including pre- and post-op.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications and report adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
• Educate patients and families about procedures and treatments.
• Assist with discharge planning and patient education as prescribed.
