Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Oakland, Maryland. This 13-week assignment requires 36 hours per week, with 12-hour night shifts, and offers tax-free stipends and travel opportunities.

The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of acute care experience, BLS and NIH certifications, and the ability to perform bedside care, administer medications, and support discharge planning in a fast-paced Med-Surg unit.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience required.
• BLS and NIH certifications required; additional certifications may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-operative.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medications, reporting adverse reactions.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs as needed.
• Assist during examinations and treatments and educate patients and families.
• Participate in discharge planning and patient education.
