Job Description & Requirements

TNAA TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Medford, Oregon. Below are the details.

• Shift: 12 hours, nights

Responsibilities

As a MedSurg RN, you will conduct patient assessments and prioritize data collection based on patients' immediate conditions or needs. MedSurg RNs perform ongoing assessments and appropriate treatments as ordered by a physician. Documenting patient findings and providing education and support to patients' families is essential to this travel nurse position.

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post‑op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educate patients on surgical procedures.
• Participate in discharge planning and initiate patient education plan as prescribed by physician.

Physical Requirements

RNs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, bend, lean and stoop without difficulty. They must be able to lift up to 20 pounds routinely and sometimes up to 50 pounds. RNs will work in a fast‑paced environment treating patients that may be confused, agitated, and/or uncooperative.

Qualifications

Requirements: BLS, 2 years recent acute care experience. Additional certifications may be required before beginning the assignment.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay package is based on 12‑hour shifts and 36 hours per week.
