Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN Float Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Warwick, Rhode Island. The position is a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week, consisting of 12-hour day shifts in Med/Surg.

The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years of recent acute care experience, be able to provide bedside care, administer medications, start IVs, manage catheters and participate in discharge planning, while educating patients about procedures and post-care instructions.

Qualifications

• Provide bedside care for a variety of patients, including pre- and post-op patients.
• Prepare, administer and record prescribed medication, reporting any adverse reactions to treatment.
• Change dressings, insert catheters and start IVs.
• Prepares equipment and aids physician during examination and treatment of patient.
• Educates patients on surgical procedures.
• Participates in discharge planning and initiates patient education plan as prescribed by physician.
