Job summary

TotalMed Allied is seeking a travel Mammography Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Eureka, California. The Mammo Tech will perform imaging, develop and forward studies to radiologists, while maintaining accurate patient records and following safety standards.

Candidates must have 1 year of experience, ARRT (M), BLS certification, and appropriate state licensing as required. Travel benefits include weekly pay and comprehensive medical coverage.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of mammography experience.
• Must hold BLS and ARRT (M) certification with state licensing if required.
• Good knowledge of anatomy, physiology and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Perform mammography imaging following established standards and procedures.
• Develop, retake when needed, and forward mammograms for radiologist interpretation.
• Identify patients, explain procedures, and provide reassurance.
• Maintain patient records and ensure a safe work environment.
• Operate the McKesson PACS system and coordinate with physicians.

We are looking for a Mammography Technologist (Mammo Tech) for an immediate travel opening in Eureka, CA. The right Mammo Tech should have 1 year of experience. Read below for additional requirements.

As a Mammo Tech, you will be responsible for the use of a mammography unit and ensuring that images are accurate and passed on to physicians for medical interpretation.

Tasks

• Confirm patient identification, review imaging requests and explain imaging procedures to patients providing reassurance and support as required
• Correctly interpret doctors' written instructions
• Conduct mammography study and maintain production and quality of mammograms by following established standards and procedures, determining necessary adjustments for optimum results
• Develop mammograms, observe mammogram results, retake mammograms as required, and forward completed studies to radiologist for interpretation
• Maintain safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures
• Maintain accurate patient records
• Understand and use the McKesson PACS system

Requirements

Must have 1 year of experience. Must have BLS, ARRT (M) National Certification with registration in mammography, and state-specific licensing when required.

Mammo Techs should be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, as well as bend, lean or stoop without difficulty. Mammo Techs must have a sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology and medical terminology.
