Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN in New Britain, CT for a Long Term Acute Care assignment. LTAC RN coverage includes caring for complex patients with respiratory/vented needs, LVADs, brain injuries, and chronic conditions.

Shifts are 12 hours (7:00 PM–7:00 AM), 36 hours per week, with every-other weekend required. Travel status; start 09/21/2026; end 12/19/2026; private housing or housing allowance may be offered.

Qualifications

• Two or more years of RN experience.
• Experience with respiratory/vented patients preferred.
• Must have travel nursing experience.
• CPR (BLS) required; ACLS preferred.

This role involves providing specialized nursing care for patients with conditions such as LVAD, cerebrovascular accidents, acquired brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, wounds, chronic respiratory conditions, and ventilation requirements. The position is located in a long-term acute care setting, emphasizing patient stabilization and complex treatment management, with a focus on respiratory and ventilated patients.

Job DetailsShift: Nights, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Every other weekend work is required. Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours Start Date: 09/21/2026 End Date: 12/19/2026

Qualifications: Two or more years of RN experience, with a focus on respiratory and vented patients strongly preferred. Must have prior travel experience. CPR certification (BLS) is required, and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is preferred.

Responsibilities: Responsible for IV starts, medication administration, blood transfusions, EKGs, medication titrations, glucose monitoring, wound vac changes, wound dressings, trach care, suctioning, straight catheters, Foley care, port access, central line dressings, and wound measurements. Nurses do not manage ventilators, as RTs handle ventilation.

Float: No float requirements.

Additional Information: Orientation occurs every Monday, with profiles needing to be complete and accurate. Prior experience with respiratory/vented patients should be highlighted.
