American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a 13-week night shift contract in California. The ideal candidate holds an active CA RN license and has 2+ years in Labor & Delivery, with required BLS/ACLS/NRP and fetal monitoring certifications.

Responsibilities include high-risk antepartum, labor, and postpartum care in a community hospital; Epic charting and 1:2 patient ratios; C-section coverage; and holiday rotations.

Qualifikationen

• Active CA RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience within the last 6 months.
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certifications required.
• Fetal monitoring certification at least intermediate or advanced.
• AWHONN Beginner certification required (intermediate/advanced accepted).
• Community hospital experience preferred.
• Experience with high-risk labor and delivery and antepartum care.
• Circulating for C-sections and scrubbing for C-sections preferred.
• Experience with amnioinfusion, forceps/vacuum, and hemorrhage management.
• Able to monitor external and internal fetal monitoring and IUPC placement.
• Experience administering Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, antihypertensives.
• Two professional references from the past year.

Aufgaben

• Labor & Delivery unit care in a community hospital setting (>150 births/mo).
• Night shift: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM.
• Every other weekend work expectation.
• Floating to postpartum unit as needed.
• 1:2 patient ratio; use Epic system.
• Involves high-risk antepartum, triage, OR circulating, newborn care.
• Provide comprehensive antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum care.
• Assist with high-risk and vaginal deliveries; C-section recovery.
• Perform newborn assessments, APGAR, and discharge teaching.
• Support breastfeeding under baby-friendly protocols.
• Manage pain control including epidural and PCA.
• Monitor fetal heart rate patterns and dysrhythmias.
• Holiday coverage and limited RTO; local rate considerations for travelers.
