Job summary

The Employee Connect is seeking a Labor and Delivery Travel RN in Silver Spring, Maryland for a 90-day onsite contract. Pay is $45.83–$47.83 per hour, dependent on experience and credentials.

You will provide direct nursing care across all stages of labor and delivery, manage fetal monitoring, and support cesarean and vaginal births. Requires Maryland RN license, BLS, NRP, and L&D experience.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Maryland at hire.
• Labor and delivery experience in a hospital setting.
• BLS and NRP certifications required.
• Competency in electronic fetal monitoring interpretation.
• Strong assessment and critical-thinking skills; able to stay composed during obstetric emergencies.
• Comfort working onsite full shifts and documenting in an EHR.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to patients through labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery with individualized plans.
• Interpret fetal heart rate tracings and intervene per protocol for non-reassuring patterns.
• Administer medications and support medicated and unmedicated births.
• Assist vaginal deliveries and provide support for cesarean sections as needed.
• Accurate documentation in the electronic health record for every encounter.
• Educate patients and families on labor progression, pain management, postpartum recovery, and newborn care.
• Participate in obstetric emergency responses and patient triage with rapid communication.
