Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing seeks a Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Cortez, CO. The role involves direct patient care in obstetrics, fetal monitoring, and postpartum support, with a focus on safe, compassionate service delivered within a high-acuity setting.

The position requires 1 year of obstetric RN experience, active RN license, BLS, and NRP certification. Expect 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week, and a comprehensive benefits package for travel clinicians.

Qualifications

• One year of recent RN Labor and Delivery experience.
• Current RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions in the medical record.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes.
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results.
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures.
• Comply with hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care.
• Perform other duties within the scope of labor and delivery nursing.
