Job summary

General Healthcare Resources, Inc. is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Columbus, Ohio. The role involves joining a Level 4 unit with high patient acuity and a focus on obstetric care.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of L&D experience, an active RN license, and certifications in BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced. Epic charting and IV starts are essential skills for this assignment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery nursing experience.
• Active RN license in hand at time of submission.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Advanced.
• Epic charting experience required.
• IV start experience required.
• Strong knowledge of L&D workflows, fetal monitoring, and obstetric patient care.
• Experience with high-acuity obstetric procedures preferred.
• Ability to adapt quickly and work collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide skilled, compassionate care to laboring, antepartum, postpartum, and high-risk obstetric patients.
• Monitor fetal heart patterns and respond appropriately to changes in patient status.
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and recovery care in a Level 4 women’s and infant care setting.
• Perform IV starts, medication administration, and blood product support as indicated.
• Support triage, high-risk pregnancy, and postpartum care needs.
• Collaborate with physicians, obstetric providers, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.
• Use Epic documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain a calm, professional presence in a high-volume, fast-moving Labor & Delivery unit.
