Job summary

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Travel RN in Labor and Delivery for a 13‑week assignment in Covington, Louisiana. This role requires an active RN license, an accredited nursing degree, and ACLS/NRP/PALS/AWHONN certifications, with 18+ months of L&D experience.

You will work 36 hours per week on a 12‑hour night shift, enjoy weekly pay and housing options, and receive comprehensive benefits through a Joint Commission‑certified agency.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS and AWHONN certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide labor and delivery nursing care for mothers and newborns.
• Monitor vital signs and detect potential high‑risk conditions.
• Educate families before and after delivery.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams during obstetric care.

Requirements

• Active RN License
• Degree from accredited nursing program

• Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Labor and Delivery (L&D) setting
• Other requirements to be determined by our client facility

Duties Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery Nurses (RN), also called perinatal nurses, provide care and support for women before, during and after delivery of the baby. They are responsible for making sure that the medical as well as the emotional needs of the patient are adequately met throughout the entire birthing process.
• Labor and Delivery (LD) nurses provide care to women and their newborns during the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and neonatal stages.
• Monitor vital signs of the mother and baby during birth.
• Monitor patients for potential high risk problems.
• Educate and support mothers and their families after giving birth.
