You will support mothers and newborns across all stages of labor, monitor critical vitals, and respond to high-risk situations as part of a dedicated team. Travel assignments include 36 hours/week, 12-hour nights, and a 13-week term.

Qualifications

• Active RN license required.
• Degree from an accredited nursing program.
• Eighteen months of recent Acute Care L&D experience.
• BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS and AWHONN certifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to laboring mothers through antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and neonatal stages.
• Monitor mother and newborn vital signs and detect high-risk issues.
• Provide education and support to mothers and families after delivery.

Duties Responsibilities

Labor and Delivery Nurses (RN), also called perinatal nurses, provide care and support for women before, during and after delivery of the baby. They are responsible for making sure that the medical as well as the emotional needs of the patient are adequately met throughout the entire birthing process.

• Labor and Delivery (LD) nurses provide care to women and their newborns during the antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and neonatal stages.
• Monitor vital signs of the mother and baby during birth.
• Monitor patients for potential high risk problems.
• Educate and support mothers and their families after giving birth.
