Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Nursing is seeking a travel Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week assignment in Bakersfield, CA. The role involves 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week, with a start date of 10/12/2026, offering competitive pay and comprehensive benefits.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of L&D RN experience, California RN licensure, current BLS, and NRP certification. Preferred certifications include AWHONN fetal monitoring, STABLE and ACLS.

Qualifications

• 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience
• Active California RN license
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP Certification required

Responsibilities

• Assess maternal and fetal health during labor and delivery
• Administer medications and treatments per obstetric nursing standards
• Assist physician during labor, delivery, and cesarean sections
• Provide immediate postpartum care and newborn stabilization
• Educate families on postpartum care, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Document care and interventions in the medical record
• Respond to obstetric emergencies using evidence-based protocols
• Participate in quality improvement to improve maternal and neonatal outcomes
