Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel Labor and Delivery RN for an assignment in Austin, TX. The RN will provide care before, during, and after delivery, staying with the patient through labor and assisting the physician as needed.

The ideal candidate has ACLS/BLS/NRP/AWHONN certifications and 3 years of acute care experience, with the ability to work 12-hour nights and lift up to 50 pounds in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• 3 years' recent acute care experience.
• ACLS, BLS, NRP, AWHONN certifications required.
• Able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Stay with and monitor patient throughout labor.
• Monitor contractions and help patients with breathing techniques.
• Check cervix periodically to monitor progression/dilation.
• Aid physician with drapes, gloves, gowns, and delivery instruments.
• Immediate care of newborn.
