American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift in Colorado. Requires an active CO or compact RN license, current CPR, and 7+ years of nursing experience, with ACLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Certification required within one year.

Responsibilities include direct patient care in labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn care, coordinating C-sections/inductions, and on-call coverage for a 7pm–7am, 36-hour week schedule.

Qualifications

• Active CO or compact RN license required.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Neonatal Resuscitation Certification and ACLS required within one year of employment.
• Minimum 7 years of nursing experience required.
• Obstetrics care experience preferred.
• Knowledge of labor, delivery, postpartum, and mother/infant nursing care essentials.
• Skilled in sterile technique and infection control principles.
• Able to perform effectively in highly stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a hospital's birth center.
• Provide direct patient care to women in labor, through delivery, postpartum, and to newborns.
• Prepare for C-sections and inductions.
• Night shift schedule from 7:00pm to 7:00am.
• 36 hours per week.
• May rotate shifts and areas based on staffing and census needs.
• On-call required.
• Perform assessments and monitor the labor process with proper documentation of nursing care.
• Administer IV medications and adhere to infection control principles and OB department policies.
• Prepare delivery rooms, provide emotional support to patients, and coordinate transfers.
• Provide patient education during labor, post-delivery, and postpartum care including infant care.
• Reports directly to the Birth Center Manager.
