Job summary

American Traveler is hiring a Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift contract in Montana. The role requires med/surg flexibility and at least 2 years of L&D experience. NP and certifications per requirements are listed, with travel housing and per diem support.

You'll provide antepartum, labor, delivery, and postpartum care, including high-risk support, fetal monitoring, and newborn care. Cerner and PCC EMR systems are used, with travel benefits included.

Qualifications

• Active MT or compact RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of Labor and Delivery experience required.
• BLS and NRP certifications required.
• ACLS and FHM certifications preferred.
• Cerner charting experience preferred.
• IV therapy, phlebotomy, and administration of blood and blood products.
• Experience maintaining central lines (CVC/PICC) and starting/maintaining IVs.
• Experience with cardiac monitoring and emergency care, including dysrhythmia interpretation.
• Proficient in External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM).
• Experience assisting with vaginal deliveries and managing postpartum hemorrhage.
• Experience with fundus, lochia, and perineum care.
• Foley catheter insertion and management.

Responsibilities

• Labor and Delivery unit within a hospital setting.
• May be floated to med/surg when census does not require labor or postpartum coverage.
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30.
• 13-week contract assignment.
• Cerner EMR used in the hospital, PCC used in LTC areas.
• Provide comprehensive care across antepartum, labor and delivery, and postpartum stages.
• Support high-risk deliveries, C-section recovery, and newborn care including APGAR scoring and thermoregulation.
• Administer medications such as Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and antihypertensives as needed
• Care for patients with conditions such as pre-eclampsia, placenta previa, and preterm labor
• Provide discharge teaching and breastfeeding support to new parents
• Travel pairs accepted
• Hospital housing available
• Maximum of 5-7 days of requested time off for auto-offer eligibility
• First-time travelers not required to have prior travel experience
