The RN will assess and plan care, perform therapeutic interventions, document outcomes, and advocate for evidence-based practices while delivering patient-centered care in a fast-paced labor and delivery setting.

Qualifications

• ASN required; BSN preferred.
• 1+ year RN Labor and Delivery experience; 2+ years preferred.
• New Jersey RN license (or multi-state compact).
• BLS, NRP, EFM certifications required; ACLS preferred.
• 13-week travel assignment in Hackensack, NJ.

Responsibilities

• Develop and coordinate plans of care for assigned patients.
• Initiate assessments based on patients' problems or needs, physician's diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage care of patients.
• Document care based on standards of care and priority.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice and innovations in care delivery.
• Provide patient-centric care in alignment with the nursing practice model.

Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Summary

The Registered Nurse is responsible for evaluating patients and assisting physicians with patient care. Key responsibilities include planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care based on patients' needs, as well as identifying patient needs and determining priorities for care through assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized plans of care for assigned patients through initial and ongoing assessments.
• Initiate assessments based on patients' problems or needs, physician's medical diagnosis, and the functional health framework.
• Perform therapeutic nursing interventions and manage care of patients.
• Document care based on standards of care and practice, patient acuity, and clinical priorities.
• Advocate for evidence-based practice care standards, supporting the adoption of evidence-based practices and innovations in care delivery.
• Provide patient-centric care in alignment with the professional nursing practice model.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience

• One (1)+ year of experience in related specialty.
• Greater than two (2) years in labor and delivery is required.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Greater than four (4) years in labor and delivery is preferred.

Required Hard Skills

• Phlebotomy and IV insertion.
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM).
• Vaginal exams.
• Circulating in operating room for c-sections.
• Assistance with instrumental deliveries.

Education

• Required: Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
• Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Certifications & Licensure

• Required:
  • BLS - AHA
  • New Jersey State Professional Registered Nurse license or multi-state compact license.
  • NRP.
  • EFM.
• Preferred:
  • ACLS - AHA.
