Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Richlands, VA. The role involves comprehensive obstetric care, including maternal/fetal assessment, anesthesia support, and postpartum management.

The ideal candidate will have 1 year of L&D experience, an active RN license, and current BLS; NRP, ACLS, and additional certifications are preferred to ensure high-quality patient care and safety on a fast-paced travel assignment.

Qualifications

• One year’s recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN.
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Certification.

Responsibilities

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families, providing reassurance and addressing concerns.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques.
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients.
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn.
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care.
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care.
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence-based protocols.
