Job summary

UVA Health is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist to join its highly specialized care team in Charlottesville. This role involves supporting diverse IR procedures, maintaining sterile technique, and aiding physicians throughout complex cases in an academic medical center.

Ideal candidates have IR experience and ARRT certification; a BLS is required. Work blocks are 13 weeks, with renewal options up to 39 weeks, plus a $2,500 incentive after the first assignment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Radiography program; ARRT R.T. certification required.
• 2 years IR experience preferred.
• ARRT (VI) certification must be obtained within one year of hire; AHA BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Support diagnostic and therapeutic IR procedures by preparing patients, maintaining sterile technique, operating imaging equipment, and assisting physicians.
• Prepare procedure rooms and supplies for high-acuity, time-sensitive cases.
• Position patients and operate fluoroscopy to produce high-quality guiding images.
• Maintain radiation safety and infection prevention standards.
• Collaborate with interventional radiologists, nurses, anesthesia, trainees and other staff.
• Participate in quality improvement and academic activities with students and residents.
