Barrington, IL - Interventional Radiology Tech (Day Shift | 8hr | Call Rotation)

Quick Glance:

Scope of Role:

• Perform both invasive and non-invasive interventional radiology procedures
• Assist physicians with biopsies, vascular, and peripheral interventions
• Scrub and circulate/record during procedures
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and accurate imaging throughout procedures
• Work collaboratively with nurses and procedural team in a 3-person room setup

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and position patients for IR procedures
• Maintain sterile technique and adhere to infection control standards
• Operate imaging equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images
• Monitor patients during procedures and respond to emergent situations
• Accurately document procedures in EPIC and MERGE systems
• Maintain procedure rooms, equipment, and supply inventory
• Participate in call rotation and support weekend/holiday coverage

Must-Have Credentials:

• ARRT (R) certification
• Active BLS (AHA)
• ACLS certification
• State radiologic technologist license (IEMA)
• Minimum 2 years of Interventional Radiology experience
• Ability to scrub and record independently

Highly Preferred:

• Experience with peripheral vascular interventions

Patient Population:

• Adult and geriatric patients
• Procedures include biopsies and vascular/peripheral interventions

Work Environment:

• 4 dedicated IR procedure rooms
• Separate pre/post procedural care unit
• Collaborative team structure (2 nurses + 1 tech per case)

Additional Details:

• Orientation: 1-3 days on unit
• Up to 7 days off may be approved during assignment
• First-time travelers considered upon review
