Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing-Cath Lab is seeking a Travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Metairie, LA. The IR tech will assist physicians with minimally invasive procedures using advanced imaging, prepare patients and equipment, and ensure safety and quality care in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements include 1 year of IR tech experience, ARRT/RCIS/RCES certification, and current BLS. Preferred ACLS, state licensure, and PALS/ENPC.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
• Valid ARRT or RCIS/RCES certification in compliance with state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Operate imaging equipment including fluoroscopy to guide procedures.
• Scrub in for sterile procedures, pass instruments, and maintain a sterile field.
• Monitor vital signs and document procedural details.
• Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Ensure radiation safety for patients, staff, and self.
• Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment for readiness.
• Collaborate with radiologists and healthcare team to provide patient care.
• Follow infection control and regulatory protocols.
• Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures.
