Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment. ARRT R and BLS are required; ARRT VI preferred. OH license if applicable and 1+ year acute IR experience are needed along with Epic charting experience.

Responsibilities include imaging, access site prep, sterile field maintenance, and equipment care in a 3-room IR unit with 25 daily patients. Travel housing benefits and support services are provided.

Qualifications

  • ARRT R and BLS certifications required; ARRT VI preferred.
  • OH license required if applicable
  • Minimum of 1 year acute IR experience
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
  • Proficiency with abdominal/pelvic procedures including chest tube placement, embolization, IVC filter placement and removal, stent placement, and thoracentesis
  • Experience with genitourinary studies/procedures including catheter/drain exchange, embolization, and internal/external biliary drainage; uterine arterial embolization preferred
  • Experience with vascular studies/procedures including TIPS and central venous access/port placement
  • Central venous access experience (non-tunneled/PICC lines) required; CV line care preferred
  • Fluoroscopy equipment experience required; CT/Philips/Siemens equipment preferred
  • SBAR communication system; infection control and sterile technique
  • 2 references from a supervisor within the past 2 years
  • Full 7-year work history with gaps explained

Responsibilities

  • Interventional Radiology unit with 3 rooms and 8 beds
  • Average daily census of 25 patients
  • Patient population includes adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
  • 5x8 hour day shifts, Mon-Fri, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
  • Call requirements include 1 weekday call and Fri 1600 to Mon 0700
  • Epic EMR required
  • Uses PACS system and fluoroscopy equipment
  • Provider support including interpretation services, lift teams, phlebotomy, radiology, rapid response, respiratory, social services, transportation, unit secretary
  • 24/7 in-house provider coverage
  • Floating to other units/facilities may be required
  • Maintaining sterile fields during procedures and equipment upkeep
  • SBAR communication and equipment upkeep
  • First-time travelers considered
  • Candidates must live outside 50-mile radius
  • Time-off rules require manager approval
  • Returning staff must be separated for at least 1 year
