Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing seeks a skilled Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment in Joplin, Missouri. The IR tech will assist with complex vascular and non-vascular procedures, operate fluoroscopy and other imaging modalities, and ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the case flow.

The role requires one year of IR tech experience, ARRT/RCIS/RCES certification, and current BLS.

Qualifications

• One year of recent IR technologist experience
• Valid ARRT or RCIS/RCES certification
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
• Operate imaging equipment to guide procedures (fluoroscopy, CT, ultrasound)
• Assist physicians by scrubbing in for sterile procedures, passing instruments, and maintaining a sterile field
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details
• Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions
• Ensure proper radiation safety measures for patients, staff, and self
• Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensuring readiness for procedures
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members to provide seamless patient care
• Follow all infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols
• Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures
• Perform other duties as assigned to support IR lab operations
