Job summary

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to perform and teach Special Procedures exams for satisfactory diagnostic imaging.
• Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations.
• Proficient in the operation of standard office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure patient care and safety during imaging procedures, applying age-appropriate practices.
• Obtain correct written orders for procedures and efficiently manage time to meet patient care assignments.
• Instruct and prepare patients regarding imaging procedures, ensuring comprehension and assisting in informed consent as needed.
• Communicate effectively with family members concerning discharge instructions and address any inquiries from patients and families.
• Verify and enter correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical histories into the computer system; maintain clear communication with radiologists.
• Adhere to safety policies and guidelines in accordance with relevant regulatory bodies such as OSHA, DHEC, and TJC.
• Practice radiation safety and ALARA principles to minimize exposure.
• Support the department’s objectives and contribute to team initiatives, demonstrating flexibility and accountability in job duties.
• Collaborate with other members of the Imaging Team and assist in maintaining departmental records and files.
• Complete other job duties and responsibilities as required.
