Job summary

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a travel Interventional Radiology Technologist for a 13-week assignment in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The IR tech will prepare patients, operate fluoroscopy and other imaging modalities, and assist physicians in minimally invasive procedures in a fast-paced lab.

The role requires 1 year IR experience, ARRT/RCIS/RCES certs, and current BLS; ACLS, PALS/ENPC, and state licensure are preferred. Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as an Interventional Radiology Technologist.
• Current ARRT, RCIS, or RCES certification per state regulations.
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC).
• ACLS certification (AHA/ARC) preferred.
• Radiologic Technologist license per state regulations preferred.
• PALS or ENPC certification preferred.
• Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and position patients for interventional radiology procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
• Operate imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT, and ultrasound, to guide procedures.
• Scrub in for sterile procedures, pass instruments, and maintain a sterile field.
• Monitor and document patient vital signs and procedural details.
• Administer contrast media and monitor for adverse reactions.
• Ensure proper radiation safety measures for patients, staff, and self.
• Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, ensuring readiness for procedures.
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other team members to provide seamless patient care.
• Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory protocols.
• Provide patient education before, during, and after procedures.
