Qualifications

Responsibilities

Registered Nurse (RN) - Intermediate Care

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Intermediate Care Unit. This role involves providing high-quality care in a unit that serves both medical-telemetry and medical step-down patients.

Unit Overview

• Unit Size: 42 beds (21 medical & 21 intermediate care)
• Patient Ratios:
  • Intermediate care: 1:3
  • Medical: 1:6
• Common Cases:
  • Pneumonia (PNA)
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) exacerbation
  • Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)
  • Hyperglycemic hyperosmolar state (HHS)
  • Alcohol withdrawal (ETOH)
  • Gastrointestinal bleeding (GIB)
  • Sepsis
  • Pulmonary embolism (PE)
  • Urinary tract infections (UTI)
  • Respiratory failure

Shift Information

This position requires 12-hour night shifts, running from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. Holiday coverage is also required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Years of Experience: 2 years

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Experience with:
  • Tracheostomy care
  • Ventilator management
  • High-flow nasal cannula (NC)

RNs may be required to float to other units as needed, and experience on both medical-telemetry and intermediate care is essential.
