Responsibilities

• Educate patients and family members about infusion therapy and treatment plans

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN Infusion for a travel nursing job in Baltimore, Maryland.

Job Summary:

Infusion Nurse (Specialty: Infusion) this position is located at a medical center providing outpatient infusion services. The role involves delivering patient-centered infusion care, including peripheral intravenous insertions, maintaining and de-accessing central lines, and monitoring patients throughout treatment. The RN must be proficient in providing rapid interventions in a fast-paced environment, ensuring safety and comfort for adult patients, particularly those with sickle cell disease and requiring ambulatory infusion therapy.

Job Details:

Schedule: Days, 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with weekend rotation every third weekend (Saturday/Sunday hours: 8:00 AM to 6:30 PM).

Certifications, Education, and Experience Requirements:

Must have a minimum of 2 years RN experience; BLS certification is required; preferred candidates will have ambulatory infusion experience, ACLS certification, Epic EMR system experience, and previous travel experience.

Skills Required:

Peripheral intravenous insertion skills, blood drawing skills, experience accessing, maintaining, and de-accessing central lines, and strong assessment skills for various medical conditions. Ability to provide ongoing patient education and quickly intervene in emergent situations.

Additional Information:

Candidates must disclose any prior employment with any Johns Hopkins healthcare facilities, regardless of how long ago. Verification requires inclusion of all such experience in the work history. Previous staff, perm, or PRN employees must be gone for at least one year before applying as a traveler.
