Job summary

American Traveler is seeking a Travel ICU registered nurse in Abilene, TX for an 8-week assignment. Expect 36 hours/week across three 12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:00), starting 01/12/2026, with weekend requirements and travel per diem opportunities.

Licensure in TX or a compact state plus ACLS/BLS are required, along with 2+ years ICU/IMC experience. The LTACH environment supports diverse acute and post-acute care, with a structured pay package and travel reimbursements.

Qualifications

• TX or compact RN license with no action against it.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Minimum of two years recent ICU or IMC experience.
• Documentation of relevant work experience within the last three years.

Responsibilities

• Work in the ICU within a LTACH setting.
• Care for ICU and medical-surgical patient populations.
• Maintain patient safety with high nurse-to-patient ratios (1:5).
• Work three 12-hour day shifts (07:00–19:00).
• Occasional weekend coverage (every other weekend).
• Open to first-time travelers.
