Job summary

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Cardiac ICU RN for a rotating day/night contract in Massachusetts. The candidate should have Level 1 trauma ICU experience and expertise in mechanical circulatory support and advanced heart failure management.

This role requires MA RN license, BLS, Epic EMR, and travel nursing experience. Expect 36-hour weeks, 1:2 nurse-patient ratio, and travel/housing incentives. Open positions: 2.

Qualifications

• Active MA RN license required; no conditional or pending licenses.
• BLS certification required (AHA only).
• Minimum 3 years of RN experience.
• Minimum 2 years of Level 1 trauma ICU experience.
• Experience with mechanical circulatory support (MCS) highly preferred.
• Expertise in advanced heart failure management required.
• Minimum 1 year of travel nursing experience required.
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Flu vaccine required with no religious or medical exemptions allowed.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 16-bed Cardiac ICU (CCU) supporting patients on mechanical circulatory support devices including Impella, durable VAD, ECMO, and IABP
• Care for a patient population with multisystem failure, specializing in advanced heart failure as well as fresh post-op cardiac surgical patients
• Clinician to patient ratio of 1:2
• 36 hours per week on a day/night rotating schedule
• Every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH) required
• Uses Epic for charting
• Provide critical care nursing to cardiac ICU patients on advanced mechanical circulatory support and those recovering from cardiac surgery
• Local candidates must reside at least 60 miles from the facility to qualify for the standard travel rate
• RTO must be disclosed at time of consideration
