Job summary

TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN in Springfield, Massachusetts for an ICU float assignment. This 13-week travel role requires 48 hours per week with 12-hour night shifts, and is intended for an ICU RN with 1–2 years of acute care experience.

The ICU Travel Nurse will evaluate and monitor patients, administer medications, interpret tests, manage equipment, and communicate with families. ACLS, BLS, and NIH certifications are often required before starting a travel assignment.

Qualifications

• ACLS and BLS required for ICU care.
• NIH certification or equivalent may be required.
• 1–2 years of recent acute care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic bedside care and monitor ICU patients.
• Administer prescribed medications and report adverse reactions.
• Order, evaluate diagnostic tests, and interpret results.
• Monitor equipment and interpret electronic displays.
• Communicate patient conditions to family members.
