Job summary

MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU for a travel assignment in Fisherville, Virginia. The ICU/CCU RN will provide care for adult patients with life-threatening conditions, manage life support equipment, and collaborate with families and the healthcare team.

The role requires an active RN license, a nursing degree from an accredited program, BLS and ACLS, and at least 18 months of recent ICU experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level care for adult ICU patients.
• Educate and support patients' families.
• Monitor life-support equipment and patient vitals.
• Administer medications and manage IVs and catheters as needed.
• Maintain meticulous medication administration documentation.
• Assist in emergency nursing procedures as needed.
• Perform CPR accurately and promptly.

Duties Responsibilities

• ICU/Critical Care Nurse (RN) possesses the skills needed to manage the care of adult patients experiencing life-threatening problems requiring complex assessment, high intensity therapies, and interventions.
• Provide patient care as well as education and support to the patient's family.
• Ensure proper functioning of life support equipment such as ventilators and feeding tubes.
• Observe the patient's heart rate, blood pressure and respiration for signs of distress.
• Administer medication, IVs, and insert catheters as needed.
• Meticulous documentation of medication administration.
• Assist in emergency nursing procedures necessary for prompt control of changes in patient’s physical condition.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation accurately and effectively.
