Job summary

Cross Country Nurses is seeking a Travel RN specialized in ICU for a 36-hour per week assignment in Marshfield, Wisconsin. This 13-week travel role features 12-hour shifts (0700–1930 or 1900–0730) with a rotating schedule and supportive intensivist coverage.

The position requires an active RN license with ACLS/BLS, NIHSS, and a minimum of 2 years ICU experience. ECMO/IABP and CRRT experience are a plus but not mandatory.

Job Summary:
Critical Care Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Intensive Care Units (ICU) is sought for a rotating shift position in a healthcare facility. This role involves providing expert nursing care to high-acuity patients, including post-operative cardiac, trauma, vascular, neurosurgical, and general surgical patients. The position emphasizes experienced, professional nurses capable of managing complex clinical scenarios within a tertiary care setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour shifts, from 0700 to 1930 or 1900 to 0730. The assignment spans from 10/19/2026 to 01/18/2027, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Staff will follow a rotating schedule including every other weekend and holiday shifts.
• Required Qualifications: Valid license to practice as a registered nurse, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), and NIHSS certifications. A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in an intensive care environment is required. Experience with high-acuity ICU patient populations and titratable drips such as epinephrine, norepinephrine, propofol, dexmedetomidine, vasoactive agents, dobutamine, heparin, insulin, dopamine, neo, and milrinone is necessary.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO), intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP), Impella, or continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) is desirable but not required.
• Additional Information: Nurses are responsible for monitoring telemetry, reading rhythm strips using GE monitors, and managing complex ventilator equipment including vents, BiPap, Vapotherm, etc. The unit maintains a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio generally, with higher ratios for more critical cases. The team includes nurse aides on day shifts and an in-house intensivist 24/7.
• Float: Float rotation may be required, including staffing in other ICU units or patient observation within the hospital if not needed in the SICU.
• Scrub Color/Dress Code: No specific color required; professional and clean attire is expected.
• Orientation: One day of system onboarding/CBT followed by two clinical orientation shifts on the unit, including skills checklist completion.
• Other Notes: Must have prior experience working in an ICU setting, specifically with high-acuity patients. Previously worked clinicians with a departure date at least 6 months prior are eligible to apply.
