American Traveler is seeking a Travel ICU Float RN for a travel nursing job in Chicago, IL. The role requires active IL RN license, BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and 2+ years ICU experience, with three 12-hour night shifts per week.

Assignment details include a 13-week duration, 36 hours per week, and floating across ICU units within 50 miles as needed. Competitive benefits and travel reimbursement are provided.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an ICU position requiring an active IL license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in various intensive care units, including Burn ICU, CCU, Medical ICU, SICU, and Neuro ICU at a Level 1 Trauma Center
• Night shift schedule: three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am
• Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required
• Mandatory float between multiple ICU units and, if needed, to MS units; floating may occur across facilities within 50 miles with notice as little as 2 hours prior to shift
• Uses Cerner for charting; prior experience with Cerner preferred
• Orientation and precepting shift will occur during the first week on day shift
• Team-based model utilized when floating outside of primary area of competency
• Must wear navy blue scrubs, which are not provided
• Strict compliance with documentation deadlines and lab work completion within 72 hours of accepting the assignment
• No block scheduling or special requests; scheduling strictly adheres to facility guidelines
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed, no more than 2 consecutive days, no weekend or holiday RTO, and no RTO the day before or after a holiday
• Failure to comply with floating or scheduled shifts may result in contract cancellation
• First week will include orientation and precepting on the day shift
