Job summary

CDM Smith is seeking a Project Controls professional in the United States to develop and manage budgets, cost control systems, forecasts, and IMS/related reporting for government-driven projects.

The role requires a strong background in budgeting, cost estimation, scheduling, and contract administration, with experience using Primavera P6 or MS Project. Domestic/international travel may be required in line with project demands.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; 5 years of relevant experience or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of government budgeting, FAR, CAS, and contract administration
  • Expertise in accounting, cost estimating, budgeting, and financial analysis
  • Experience with scheduling tools (Primavera P6, MS Project) for IMS and progress reporting
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong written/oral communication
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and manage change orders

Responsibilities

  • Develop, update, and maintain project budgets and cost control systems per contract requirements
  • Prepare cost and schedule estimates; analyze trends and provide accruals, EV, and variance reports
  • Establish baselines for cost and schedule; identify variances and recommend corrective actions
  • Support development/management of Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and progress reporting
  • Conduct cost/schedule risk analyses and present KPIs, forecasts, and explanations
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and field teams to track progress and manage change orders
  • Ensure compliance with FAR, CAS, and reporting requirements; support audits and data validation
  • Continuously evaluate project controls processes and propose improvements
  • Perform other duties as assigned
