Job summary

Optum Onsites is seeking a traveling Primary Care provider (FNP or PA) to support 24 clinics across multiple states. The role requires licensure in assigned states, a valid DEA and CPR, and willingness to travel overnight with travel and accommodations covered.

This position emphasizes whole-person health with duties including preventive exams, acute care, chronic disease management, minor procedures, telemedicine, and collaboration with a medical assistant.

Qualifications

• Certified Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.
• Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain prior to start).
• 2+ years of clinical experience as a FNP or PA in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, ambulatory, emergency and/or urgent care setting(s).
• Willing and able to travel overnight with expenses covered 100% of the time.
• Valid driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality Primary Care including wellness and preventative exams, acute care and chronic disease management.
• Provide minor procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting, incision/drainage).
• Offer lifestyle and well-being counseling and behavioral health management.
• Deliver telemedicine services and provide clinical leadership of worksite staff.

Join the Optum Onsites team! Optum Onsites delivers employer-based primary care that focuses on whole-person health, not occupational health services.

This 0.75 FTE position serves as a traveling provider supporting short-term coverage needs across 24 clinics located in Tennessee, Texas, Massachusetts, Indiana, Missouri, Wisconsin, Florida, Delaware, and Arizona. The selected candidate must obtain and maintain licensure in all assigned states. Optum will cover the cost of any required licenses not currently held by the candidate. Travel and accommodations are included.

There is no residency requirement for this role; however, reasonable proximity to a major airport hub is preferred.

Deliver high quality Primary Care including:

• Wellness and Preventative Physical Exams
• Acute care of minor illness and injuries
• Chronic Disease Management and Longitudinal care
• Minor procedures (e.g., suturing, splinting, incision/drainage, etc.)
• Lifestyle and well-being counseling
• Medical management of behavioral health conditions
• Telemedicine services
• Provide clinical leadership of worksite staff
• Work closely with a certified medical assistant

Required Qualifications:

• Certified Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
• Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• 2+ years of clinical experience as a FNP or PA in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, ambulatory, emergency and/or urgent care setting(s)
• Experience seeing patients of all ages including children and adolescents
• Willing and able to travel overnight with expenses covered 100% of the time
• Valid driver's License

Preferred Qualifications:

• Multiple state licensures or the ability to obtain (TN, TX, MA, IN, MO, WI, FL, DE, AZ)
• 5-10+ years of clinical experience as a FNP or PA in primary care, family medicine, internal medicine, ambulatory, emergency and/or urgent care setting(s)
• Experience treating patients ages 2 years and up
