MedPro Healthcare Staffing is seeking a travel nurse RN ED – Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Oakland, California. The role requires a valid RN license, acute care ER experience, and eligible certifications.

You will join a Joint Commission-certified staffing agency providing nationwide travel opportunities and competitive benefits. The position includes a 13-week assignment with 36 hours per week on 12-hour night shifts, paying with travel stipends and credentialing coverage.

Qualifications

• Active RN license is required.
• Degree from an accredited nursing program is required.
• BLS, ACLS, PALS and possibly TNCC may be required for some positions.
• Eighteen months of recent experience in an Acute Care Emergency Room setting.
• Other requirements to be determined by the client facility.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for patients from various illnesses or traumas requiring emergency attention.
• Assess, intervene and stabilize patients with life-threatening conditions.
• Be knowledgeable about general and specific health issues relevant to emergency care.
• Understand triage to prioritize injuries based on medical need.
• Make quick and accurate assessments of incoming patients, including physical and mental health conditions.

• Emergency Room registered nurses (RN) provide care for patients from various types of illness or trauma requiring emergency attention and must be able to recognize and effectively treat life‑threatening conditions
• Responsible for assessing, intervening and stabilizing a variety of trauma and illnesses with decisive action
• Due to the range of medical conditions that may require urgent treatment and care, they must be knowledgeable about general as well as specific health issues
• Properly understand triage in order to prioritize injuries based on medical need
• Able to make quick and accurate assessments about incoming patients, including both physical and mental health conditions
