Qualifications

• Active TN or compact RN license.
• Minimum 1 year of nursing experience.
• Current BLS certification (AHA).
• ACLS certification (AHA) required.
• PALS certification (AHA) may be required.
• TNCC certification may be preferred or required.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification may be required.
• Nursys license verification within 30 days prior to start.
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Emergency Department‑Trauma unit.
• Care for patients with medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma emergencies.
• Evening shift from 15:00 to 03:30.
• 12-week assignment length.
• Use cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators.
• Document in the electronic health record.
• Perform rapid patient assessments, triage, and prioritization of care based on severity and urgency.
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, and changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and other treatments as ordered.
• Assist with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare team members.
• Provide patient and family education on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Follow infection-control and medication-safety practices.
• Participate in emergency preparedness and quality-improvement initiatives.
• Radius rules apply and may affect pay rate for local candidates.
