Job summary
Premiere Healthcare Staffing seeks an experienced Travel ED Charge Nurse for Lewiston, Maine. The role oversees emergency department operations, supports nursing staff, and ensures high-quality patient care during shifts.
You will coordinate staffing, supervise staff, manage patient flow, and participate in performance management. Requires active RN license, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and ED experience with supervision. This is a 12-week assignment with days and nights shifts and competitive weekly pay.
Qualifications
- Active RN license (state)
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications on hire
- At least 1 year as staff nurse in acute ED setting
- Previous supervisory experience required
Responsibilities
- Oversees ED operations and nursing staff during shifts
- Ensures safe, high-quality patient care and regulatory compliance
- Manages staffing, scheduling, and patient assignments
- Supervises, coaches, and supports staff development
- Assists with performance management and HR-related activities
- Monitors supplies, equipment, and unit readiness
- Coordinates patient flow, admissions, transfers, and discharges
- Addresses patient care concerns and escalates issues as needed
- Rounds with patients and families to support a positive experience
- Provides direct patient care when needed to maintain safe staffing levels
