Job Summary

Emergency Room (ER) registered nurse opportunity available in a teaching hospital setting within a Level 1 Trauma Center. This position involves delivering comprehensive emergency care to a diverse patient population, including pediatric, neonatal, and adult patients, in a high-acuity environment. The role requires adhering to hospital protocols and providing quality patient-centered care in a fast-paced setting.

Job Details

Schedule: Night shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

Required Qualifications

• Must have a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience with Epic.
• Must hold a valid California license; no EMSA licenses accepted.
• Candidate must have at least 2 years of ER experience, including trauma and pediatric emergency care, and be comfortable with pediatric patients.
• A valid RTO (Reasonable Time Off) request must be included at initial submission.

Preferred Qualifications

• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) experience.
• Previous teaching hospital experience.
• Trauma experience in adult or pediatric emergency departments.
• Prior travel experience.

Additional Information

The role involves caring for patients across various age groups, managing complex clinical scenarios including trauma, sepsis, stroke, and cardiac emergencies, and utilizing specialized equipment such as ECMO. The facility is a comprehensive trauma and stroke center with interdisciplinary support teams and advanced procedures. No float or call required.

Submittal Requirements

Candidates must have current certifications in ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (if applicable), PALS, and BSN degree. Experience with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, multisystem organ failure, central line care, ventilated patient management, and PPE protocols is expected. Candidates must have at least 2 years of relevant ER experience.
