Job Summary:
Emergency Room (ER) nurse position located in Salem, VA. This role involves providing high-quality emergency care in a fast-paced environment within a 27-bed unit. The nurse will be responsible for patient assessment, treatment, and stabilization, working evening shifts with a minimum of 36 hours per week. The assignment is designed for nurses with prior ER experience who thrive in a team-oriented setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: Evenings; 12-hour shifts; minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); 2-3 years of ER experience; completion of 2-3 travel assignments
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with high acuity and high-volume ERs, patient ratios of 5:1, and procedures such as RSI, sepsis interventions, stroke protocol with tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) administration, central line placement, care of psychiatric patients, and transfers under Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA) regulations
• Additional Information: No float required; the unit maintains a relaxed and team-oriented culture; staffing includes a charge nurse, RNs, and medics; no on-call responsibilities; four weekend shifts are scheduled within a four-week period, with shifts falling on Fridays or Saturdays for night shifts and Saturdays or Sundays for day shifts.
