The EP tech will support complex cardiac electrophysiology and ablation procedures, operate Cardo Micropace units, and contribute to patient care in a Level I trauma center within an acute care hospital setting.

Responsibilities include assisting with pacemaker/defibrillator insertions, arrhythmia management, equipment setup, and patient monitoring.

Qualifications

• Valid Illinois licensure, BLS and ACLS certifications.
• ARRT Radiology certification required.
• Experience in electrophysiology procedures and cardiac ablations.
• Documentation system proficiency and device management experience.

Job Summary:
Electrophysiology (EP) Technician specializing in cardiac procedures in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves supporting complex electrophysiology and cardiac ablation procedures, operating Cardo Micropace units, and contributing to patient care in a Level I trauma center. The position offers a dynamic schedule with a focus on advanced cardiac interventions and team collaboration.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 10-hour shifts, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, with a variable day off on Wednesday or Friday. Minimum of 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Valid Illinois licensure, BLS certification, ACLS certification, ARRT Radiology certification. Experience in electrophysiology procedures, cardiac ablations, device management, arrhythmia interpretation, and documentation system proficiency. No minimum years of experience required.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with concurent EP procedures such as PFA, RF ablations, LAA closure, PFO/ASD closure, lead extractions, and cardiac mapping systems. Prior experience with Cerner and Epic electronic medical record systems is preferred.
• Responsibilities: Support electrophysiology procedures including pacemaker and defibrillator insertions, arrhythmia management, equipment setup, and patient monitoring. Operate Cardo Micropace units, assist with mapping devices, and ensure sterile technique during procedures. May assist in other cardiac cases when volume permits.
• Additional Information: This position requires the ability to operate Cardo Micropace and willingness to teach others. Cases may run past scheduled shift hours. No overnight on-call duties are required, although procedures may extend beyond the shift time.
